Lara attended an all girls high school called Merici college and then spent years 11 and 12 at Daramalan College, a co-ed school.

Lara never had a great interest in drama, in fact it was one of her least favourite classes. She intended on becoming a primary school teacher and was accepted to study primary education at the University of Canberra. Her acceptance in to university came at the same time as her being offered the role in Heartbreak High and she put her university education on hold to give Heartbreak High a go.

Lara moved to Sydney just before her 18th birthday and began acting workshops for Heartbreak High. Having never acted before there were times when she doubted she would be able to pull it off but Nico Lathouris was there to encourage and inspire. Lara speaks very highly of this man who taught them all to act. He introduced Lara, Cal and Rel to the acting method practical aesthetics.

Lara spent 2 and a half years on heartbreak high. Callan and Lara met on the show and were a couple both on screen and off for over three years. They are said to now be very close friends. Lara is currently single.

Lara also spent 2 months modelling in Taiwan in her final year of school. She used to play netball and did jazz ballet for six years. Lara still loves to dance and believes music to be a soul soother.

Lara has a great interest in natural therapies and astrology and numerology and dreams. Lara considers herself a true piscean in the sense that she has strong spiritual beliefs and believes in all things magical !!
